Mount Damavand

Description

Mount Damavand tour is one of those tours that each mountaineer is eager to experience.

It is 5672 meters, being the highest mountain in Iran, at Alborz Ranges. From July to August, many mountaineers from different parts of the world visit here.

For climbing Damavand, there are different methods according to mountaineer’s abilities and techniques.

If mountaineers are not experienced, they will be given a recommended tour to visit Tochal, to feel air of 3000 meters, so that they can climb Damavand.

Itinerary

1

Day 1: Arrival in Tehran

Arrival in Tehran and move towards the hotel.

Day 2: Leave from Tehran to Tochal

At 5.00 am, we leave the hotel and move towards Darband. We will start from the Sarband square beside the Kuhnavard Statue. We will cross by the Pasghale Village and Helal Ahmar Camp and reach Shirpala Shelter. We will have breakfast and rest, then continue towards Tochal. After 1 and half hour we will reach Siyah Sang. We will take rest at Amiri Camp for a while. This point is 3387 meters high. After crossing the ups and downs of this route, we will reach Tochal peak at 3964 meters.

If the weather is favorable, we can see the beautiful peaks of Damavand, Jansotun and Alam kuh.

We will stay the night at Tochal hotel which is 3545 meters high.

Day 3:Return to Tehran and move towards Gusfand Sara

After breakfast, we leave from Tehran towards Haraz and Polur road. We reach Nandel Village and overnight there.

Day 4: Leave from Nandel to Gusfand Sara

After taking breakfast, we will drive towards Gusfand Sara with Nissan Vanette and camp there, which is 2930 meters high. We will have a light hiking up to 3500 meters to feel the air. Finally we will return to our camp to sleep overnight.

Day 5: Leave from Gusfand Sara to Takhte Fereydun

After taking breakfast, we leave to Takhte Fereydun Mountain Refuge at 4400 meters. We will rest for a while and return to 4360 meters, finally stay at the camp of Spilet.

Day 6: Climb to height of 4950 meters to adapt

After taking breakfast, we climb to height of 4950 meters and have a trekking practice for our guests. After taking lunch, we return to the camp and get ready for final climbing to Mount Damavand.

Day 7: Climb to Damavand Mount

At 3.30 am, we leave for climbing to Mount Damavand. After 3 to 4 hours, we reach height of 5500 meters. We take rest for a while, then continue towards Damavand, which will take 1 hour. After taking rest for a while and refreshing up, we return down. 50-60 meters lower, we will cross by the Gaz Gugerd Crater. After covering distance of few hundred meters, we will reach Bargahe Sevom. We will put up our camp at 4400 meters height.

Day 8: Leave to Gusfand Sara and then Larijan

After taking breakfast, we will pack our luggage and move to Gusfand Sara. After reaching Gusfand Sara, we will drive to Larijan with Nissan Vanette. We will stay at Larijan hotel, take hot shower, relax and sleep.

Day 9: Leave to Tehran

After having breakfast, we will leave from Larijan to Tehran. We will visit Golestan palace and Iran Bastan Museum. We will go to Darband to have dinner. Later, we go IBIS hotel and rest.

Day 10: Fly back to destination country
